Dangerous Times, Part 2
Of course the shell casings on the assassins bullets were not “trans ideology,” whatever the hell that is. From explanations I’ve seen on the web, the shooter’s cryptic messages seemed to be references to furries and video games, with a salute to an Italian song thrown in.
And, once again, the shooter doesn’t appear to be a dedicated leftist radical, but the son of a Republican cop, himself a registered independent, who just happened to hate Charlie Kirk’s politics, for whatever reason.
So does all of this make me feel better about the state of the country today? No. Because I don’t see any of those House Republicans who raced to the floor calling for the Democratic Party to be banned yesterday retracting a word.
And President Trump is still out there blaming anyone to the left of him for every act of violence. He even had the nerve to say that radicals on the right are ok because all they want is to stop crime. That’s a barely concealed racist remark — the KKK or those torch marchers in Charlottesville, VA want all non whites out of the country because we all know it’s those people who cause crime.
Things are just as dangerous today as they were yesterday. But we’ll head into the weekend and most of the country will narcotize itself with football, there may or may not be another mass shooting somewhere in the country, we’ll drift close to chaos.
And no, I’m not leaving the country because I have children and nowhere to go. I’m stuck riding this out. But it’s going to be a painful next several years, at least. The economic pain is right around the corner, the 2026 election will be seriously contested, Europe could erupt in war. It’s not looking good, folks.
My only advice to everyone is to expand your circles of love and friendship. Find some people who make life worth living if you have to disconnect from the world around you. Because it’s clear that staying tuned into all of this can make anyone crazy.
