The brothers are outside sizing up the security issues of their father’s flat, conceiving of bizarre ways people could enter via the balcony and break into the premises. So they think of elaborate new security measure to keep them out.

Then it occurs to Jerzy — he’s really enjoying himself. He tells Artur that this stamp obsession has wiped away his cares. Artur agrees, he says that thinking about the stamps has made him feel like a child again — it’s made him forget about the troubles of the world.

They agree that this feeling is childish, but maybe that’s all there is to happiness. Artur then comes up with an idea — find one of the stamps in dad’s catalogue worth about 200,000 zloty. He wraps that stamp in newsprint and takes it to the stamp dealer, their new nemesis.

The dealer claims it is worth 15,000 zloty, but only offers 3000 for it. Artur asks for 5000. The dealer says it is stolen property and won’t pay more than 4000. Artur agrees. Artur takes the money, then he takes his stamp back as well. When the broker asks what he is doing, he produces a portable tape recorder and plays back their conversation.

The broker asks what he wants. He says he was the zeppelin stamps and is happy to offer the 4000 zloty plus a lightly used Sony tape recorder. The broker mentions that someone else had come for it and Artur tells him it was his brother. The broker says his brother wasn’t as clever and Artur replies “he didn’t know you.” The broker says he gets it now “you are the sons of …” and he goes to fetch the stamps.

Jerzy then arrives at the apartment only to find the doors locked, his keys don’t work and a very loud dog barking inside. Artur changed all of the locks and bought a huge black dog, and Jerzy tries very hard to ingratiate himself. He eventually gives him a sausage and seems to make peace, but he offers to stay over at the apartment so the dog can get used to him.

Artur then shows Jerzy the Zeppelins and says that the dealer is a real character — he wants to meet them both to discuss something.

The boys seem on top of this crazy stamp business at the moment, but their fun at the top won’t last for long.
